Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests,

It is a great pleasure for me to be with you in the Northcote Town Centre to celebrate a traditional Chinese holiday, the Moon Festival. On behalf of the Chinese Consulate-General in Auckland, I wish everyone, a happy Moon Festival.

Moon Festival is a major holiday in China, traditionally for family reunion and is said to be one of the most romantic festivals in China. It is also widely celebrated in other Asian countries, with different styles of celebration in different parts of Asia, pinning hope for better life and expressing love. I wish all the friends from North Shore City a happy life and successful career.

There will be wonderful performances going on here today, demonstrating culturally diversified North Shore City and symbolizing the harmonious essence of the festival. I wish you every success in the performances and an enjoyable evening.

Happy Moon Festival.

Thank you.
