The Consulate General is open from 9:00am-12:00pm for application and 2:00pm-4:00pm for pick up, Monday to Friday (except public holiday).

If a New Zealand document e.g. Birth/Marriage Certificate, Power of Attorney, Personal Statement of Marriage etc. is to be used in China, it must be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate-General. Before you apply for the authentication in our office, Birth/Death/Marriage Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation and other original documents produced by New Zealand government departments must be authenticated by the Department of Internal Affairs of New Zealand, and then verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, New Zealand. Power of Attorney, Personal Statement of Marriage and similar documents must first be notarized by a notary public in New Zealand, and authenticated by the Department of Internal Affairs of New Zealand, and also verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, New Zealand.

You need to fill in an application form for authentication either at the Chinese Consulate or download it from our website. The copy of the identity page of your valid passport is required.

 

The fees are NZ $40 per civil documents and NZ $80 per document regarding property, finance or business.

 

We ONLY accept cash, ETTPOS, bank cheque payable to the Chinese Consulate.

 

We DO NOT provide mail service, and the applications should come to our office personally.
